Saturday October 24 10am-12pm
Kantha quilts are a traditional Indian blanket made from repurposed fabric. By layering old fabrics and joining them together with running stitches, warm and colorful quilts are made. Inspired by this, I’ve created mini works of art using fabric scraps.
In this two hour class, you’ll receive a kit containing fabric scraps, an embroidery hoop, embroidery floss, and other notions and tools. I’ll guide you through the process of layering fabric in an eye-pleasing way, stitching the layers together, and adding embellishments. By the end of the class, you’ll have a unique piece of art to display in your home.
These classes are limited to 4 students so everyone gets the one-on-one attention they need.
Prerequisites: Beginners are welcome! This class is designed for adults, but kids aged 12+ are welcome to come with a parent/guardian.
