Hi, I'm Lauren Cairns, the owner and dyer behind Granite State Yarns. I have been in love with sock knitting for years, and expanded my hobby into dyeing some of the most beautiful colorways around. I love bright, happy colors and enjoy playing with pigments to come up with interesting combinations. All of my yarn is hand dyed in my kitchen...maybe someday I'll have my very own studio! I am passionate about knitting, and also like to crochet, embroider, and quilt. Creating with my hands brings me so much joy!

I started my career as a laboratory chemist before starting my dream job as a wife and mother. My husband and I live in New Hampshire with our 8 beautiful children.
