Have you wanted to learn to knit, crochet, or spin yarn, but don’t know where to start? Get a quick introduction to the basics of your preferred craft with guidance from an experienced fiber artist, Lauren Cairns.
Intro classes are private one-on-one lessons.
Already know some basics and want to learn something more advanced? I’m happy to provide private one-on-one help on topics like sock and garment knitting, project troubleshooting, etc. Feel free to schedule a class and let’s chat!

Intro to knitting or crochet includes a skein of acrylic yarn and needles or hook. Intro to spinning includes a drop spindle and some wool fiber.

Class policies:
Please be prompt and arrive for your class on time. If you need to reschedule, please email lcgranitestateyarns@gmail.com as soon as possible. Classes are non-refundable, but we can reschedule.
Weather policy: I will contact you ASAP to reschedule if weather conditions are dangerous.
Illness policy: please reschedule if you are feeling ill or have had a fever in the last 48 hours. Likewise, I will reschedule if I’m sick! Let’s swap a love of crafting, not germs 🦠😉

As a new knitter I started a project that was well beyond my current skills. I began weekly individual lessons with Lauren both to finish the piece and to learn the techniques I was missing.
Lauren is patient, kind, and genuinely encouraging. She never made me feel rushed or foolish for not knowing something; instead she broke each new stitch or section into small, clear steps and checked that I understood before moving on. Because the lessons were one-on-one and focused on my project, I could ask questions in the moment and immediately practice the skill on the actual knitting.
I would recommend Lauren to any beginner who wants personal guidance rather than a group class, especially if they have a specific project they are determined to finish.
